Chinese COVID-19 aid arrives in Moscow

MOSCOW, April 2 (Xinhua) -- A Russian transport plane carrying the Chinese government's humanitarian aid from Beijing arrived here on Thursday to support Russia's fight against COVID-19.

The cargo, measuring some 269 cubic meters and weighing about 25.5 tons, includes medical masks, protective suits, surgical gloves, thermometers and shoe covers.

"We would like to thank and say words of gratitude to the Chinese side for sending humanitarian aid to Russia," Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said at an online news briefing.

Russia has tallied 3,548 cases of COVID-19 in 76 regions as of Thursday, surging by a record of 771 from the previous day.
